Green Papayas

ABOUT:

The Green Papaya is a pear-shaped berry fruit. It gets its name by its green peel exterior. The interior of a green papaya is light-colored and holds the seeds in a pocket shaped core. A green papaya’s texture is similar to a mango, succulent and slightly firm. The fruit itself is exquisitely sweet, however, the seeds are acerbic. Green Papaya’s originate from Southern and Central America and grow in warm temperatures that range from semi-tropical to tropical climates. This tropical berry fruit is beneficial towards improving digestive health, treating infections, reducing the risk of heart disease, etc.

HANDLING:

Green Papaya’s are stored at temperatures of 50°F  in a humid environment, leaving them to have a potential storage life of 3-4 weeks.
